A mattress is the most crucial part of a good night’s sleep. People will spend about a third of their lives sleeping, which is a lot of time sleeping on a bad mattress. During the amount of time you spend sleeping, you could either be getting great sleep or terrible sleep, depending on your mattress.

If you want to get the best possible sleep, you need to make sure your mattress is at peak performance and does not need replacement. A worn-out mattress that is no longer properly supporting your body is not supportive of sound sleep and could even be detrimental to a healthy sleep experience.

Best

The best mattresses you can get will last ten years and beyond, exceptionally if adequately cared for. In this category, Mattresses range from $3000 to $5000 and even higher depending on how much luxury you want, with some of the craziest mattresses retailing at $150,000.

This category earns the term luxury mattress. Mattresses are made with luxury quality materials such as premium memory foam, cashmere, wool, copper, silver, and the best mattress technology available. Your mattress at this price should last for a long time.

As with the other categories, should the support system in your mattress fail, you should make finding a new supportive mattress a priority.

Better

A better mattress will last an average of about four to eight years. In this category, mattresses will cost between $600 to $2000 and often have manufacturer warranties protecting against failure for five to ten years.

Better quality mattresses should be replaced after about seven years unless the support fails before that point. To help you maintain proper support for your back and neck, replace your mattress as soon as possible if it is no longer supportive.

Better quality mattresses use higher quality materials for a longer-lasting bed. Besides, better quality mattresses often use better technology like cooling technology or advanced hybrid spring and memory foam designs.

Good

A good mattress will last between one to three years on average. Most mattresses in this category will be around $200 to $500 on average, and the quality is reflected in the pricing. Your mattress should be replaced after about two and a half years maximum.

In the excellent category, mattresses are short-term solutions and start to break down after about three years. Improper support from an old mattress can lead to back and neck pains, so if you want better quality support, be sure to replace your mattress after about two and a half years.

Good quality mattresses are an excellent idea for college students or children’s bedrooms since they have a lower lifespan. A good mattress should last through the college years or the amount of time until a child has grown enough to need a new mattress size.

Many good brand mattresses can be purchased directly online and shipped to your door. Brands like Nectar or Purple mattress are acceptable good quality mattresses for between one to three years.
