“It’s time to go to bed.” The phrase our nine-year-old selves dreaded while most of us as adults look forward to hearing. Anyone who works forty plus hours knows that bedtime means rest after a long and exhausting day.
However, looking forward to restful sleep does not guarantee that said restful sleep will be granted. The simple fact remains that to sleep properly, you need to sleep on something comfortable and supportive.
Beds made of loose stones, broken glass, and thistles are remarkably bad ideas and very clearly do not make for a good night’s sleep. However, sometimes villainous beds are more subtle, and one person’s perfect mattress may be another persons nightmare.
Fairy tales aside, mattress specifics don’t have much appeal to the weary traveler looking for a quiet place to crash for the night. Still, to the person looking for a more permanent sleep solution, the brand and style of mattress should hold a higher level of scrutiny.
