Sectionals are a staple of many living rooms. Whether you have a small living space, open concept living room, or simply need to seat a large number of people, sectionals provide ample seating for all. If you’re interested in purchasing a sectional, but don’t know where to start, come to Furniture Fair! We can help you find the right seating for your living room.

What Sectional is Right for Your Space?

There are a variety of sectional styles that work best for different types of spaces. Which one is best for you?

Small Living Room

Whether you have an open-concept living space or a separate, closed-off living room, a sectional can give you ample seating without taking up too much room. An L-shaped sectional or chaise sectional, especially when placed up against a wall, can be a great addition no matter your personal style.

Open-Concept Living Space

Is your living room, dining room, and kitchen all a part of the same space? A sectional can help you separate these spaces into distinguishable sections. For these spaces, a U-shaped sectional or L-shaped sectional with a chaise will help separate the spaces from one another. If your space is small, an L-shaped sectional may be all you need.

Large Living Room

With a large living room, you get the luxury of having more space to seat your friends and family. When you have the space, why not fill it with a large, comfortable sitting space? A U-shaped sectional will likely fill the space well, as an L-shaped or chaise sectional may be too small. You may also have space for a reclining sectional – all the comfort of a recliner with the ample space of a sectional!

Things to Consider When Purchasing A Sectional

What is your typical walking pattern?

You may be considering a chaise sectional, but realize that the long part of the sofa would be directly in the way of where you typically walk. Before purchasing a sectional, make sure you know the dimensions you have to work with – as well as where you shouldn’t have anything.

Do you want any additional features?

Do you want to be able to recline with your feet up? Do you want a convenient cupholder to place your drink while watching the big game? Do you need to be able to transform your sofa into a bed for the in-laws or friends crashing at you place? Not all sectionals come with these features, but if one or more is important to you, Furniture Fair can help you find what you’re looking for.

What material do you prefer?

Sectionals come in a variety of colors and fabrics. From real leather to faux leather to fabric, there are an endless number of options out there for you to choose from.
