The Ohio River Valley Region of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), a global leader in the fight against cancer, has announced that Furniture Fair has joined LLS’s 2022 Light The Night® campaign as a Presenting Sponsor for Light The Night.

Light The Night is an annual fundraising event that aims to create a world without blood cancer. The event will take place in-person this year on October 6th at Yeatman’s Cove in Cincinnati, Ohio.

To quote Bill Daniels, President of Furniture Fair, “On behalf of Furniture Fair, I want to say that we are extremely honored to help make a difference in the fight against blood cancers, alongside our amazing partners at LLS.”

Light The Night is a fundraising campaign benefiting LLS and their funding of research to find blood cancer cures. Coming together for a common goal, friends, family, and co-workers form fundraising walk teams.

Culminating in inspiration and memorable evening walks every fall, participants in communities across North America join together carrying illuminated lanterns to take steps to end cancer – white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer.

“We’re thrilled to have Furniture Fair as a sponsor of this year’s 2022 Light The Night,” said Tom Carleton, Executive Director at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Ohio River Valley Region. “Furniture Fair will also be a Light The Night sponsor in our Dayton and Louisville markets.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society generates and delivers hope in a time of despair, a community in place of loneliness, and life-saving research and support for cancer patients and their families. Now is the time for us to be bigger and more powerful than we’ve ever been before, and Furniture Fair is helping us do that through their annual golf outing, benefitting LLS.”

The global COVID-19 pandemic magnified patients' issues beyond health concerns to include added distress, new financial worries, loneliness, and uncertainty. The pandemic stood in the way of any in-person Light The Night events during the pandemic.

However, impactful virtual walks still took place across the country, bringing the same level of passion and dedication to fight blood cancer. Despite the challenges, LLS has remained laser-focused on its mission priorities: Research, Education & Support, and Policy & Advocacy.
