At Furniture Fair, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn and succeed. That's why we are proud to partner with Volunteers of America (VOA) and their Back to School campaign, which aims to empower children in their programs and ensure they have a great start to the school year. We understand that kids can't learn when they don't have the supplies they need, and that's where our community can make a difference.

Through our Back to School campaign, we provide valuable assistance to the children served by VOA in the following ways:

1. Backpacks and School Supplies:Having the necessary resources on day one is crucial. That's why we supply backpacks and school supplies, equipping children with the tools they need to thrive academically.

3. Gift Cards for Clothes and Supplies: We understand that each child's needs are unique. Therefore, we provide gift cards for back-to-school clothes and school supplies, allowing families to select items that best suit their circumstances.

4. School Uniform Assistance: We offer support by providing assistance with school uniforms, ensuring that children have appropriate clothing for their educational journey.

5. Collection Drives: We encourage you to organize a collection drive at your workplace, civic group, or place of worship. By coming together as a community, we can gather even more resources to support children in need.

6. Volunteer Opportunities:If you're looking for a hands-on approach, consider registering to volunteer at voamid.org/volunteer. You can provide tutoring and other support services to help children reach their full potential.

7. School Uniform Assistance:We offer support by providing assistance with school uniforms, ensuring that children have appropriate clothing for their educational journey.

Starting from July 1 through the 31st, you can drop off donations at Furniture Fair locations, conveniently located at 9132 Taylorsville Rd, Louisville, Kentucky 40299, and 757 E Lewis and Clark Pkwy Ste 702, Clarksville, Indiana 47129. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of children in our community.

In addition to our partnership with VOA, we also want to shed light on VOA Home's Unity House program. Recognized as the first program of its kind in Louisville, Unity House provides individualized care and goal-setting for families facing homelessness.

This program offers safe and decent emergency shelter, addressing immediate needs such as food, housing, and safety. Once stabilized, families work with case managers who conduct comprehensive assessments to identify strengths and needs in various areas, including housing, employment, education, and support services.

Based on this assessment, the VOA Home staff collaborates with families to create a personalized plan with short-term and long-term goals. By building on strengths and addressing challenges, the program aims to end homelessness and promote self-sufficiency.
