Many living rooms feature a TV as the centerpiece from which furniture and other décor are placed around. Odds are, if you have a TV, you need a TV stand to place it on. TV stands come in all shapes, sizes, and styles to fit your space and style needs.

Whether you need something just large enough to hold your TV, or you want an entertainment center that spans an entire wall, Furniture Fair has a variety of styles! We’re sure to have the perfect stand that will last you for years to come.

TV Stand Sizes

Most TV stands are built to be at the right height to watch TV sitting on a couch. Keep in mind that when you’re choosing a stand, TV manufacturers size their products based on the diagonal measurement of the screen rather than the length, width, and height of the TV as a whole. Therefore, you may want to measure your TV yourself before you purchase a TV stand.

Tip: A good rule of thumb is to purchase a TV stand that’s 2-3 inches wider than your television on both sides. This minimizes the risk of your TV tipping over if someone bumps into it.

TV Stand Styles

Did you know that TV stands come in a variety of styles? Many come with space to store items or display décor. Learn more about the various styles below.

TV Console

TV consoles are usually a rectangular shape with a tabletop and storage beneath. Storage can include shelving, drawers, cabinets, or a combination of all three. These are one of the most common types of TV stands.

Cabinet

Cabinet TV stands are large units with a variety of storage solutions. When you don’t want to have your TV on display, the cabinet doors allow you to close off your TV and keep it protected. These are ideal for large gatherings.

Entertainment Center

Entertainment centers are the complete package when it comes to TV stands. They often include a cabinet portion for the TV and media towers for speakers. Additionally, many entertainment centers come with a lot of storage options.

Open Shelf

Open shelf TV stands are minimal and simple. Often, they have an open frame and come with open shelving for storage. Open shelves are an ideal choice for small spaces.

Hutch

Hutches are very similar to cabinet TV stands, but with one major difference: they come with shelving on top of the space for the TV in addition to storage below. Hutches are ideal when you need a lot of storage, but don’t have room horizontally for a wide cabinet or entertainment center.

Corner Unit

Corner units come in compact designs ideal for sitting in the corner of a room. Depending on the layout of your living room, a corner unit may be the most effective option due to the amount of space it saves and the storage options beneath.
