So you're looking for a new mattress, but you want to get brand specific. In today's video, we're going to be having a look at Tempur Pedic, and hopefully, we can get you the information about them to help you determine whether they might be right for you. I'm Vincent Smith. I'm a bedding specialist here at Furniture Affair's Oxford Home and Sleep location and in today's video we'll discuss who Tempur Pedic is, some of the mattresses they specialize in, as well as some of their interesting features Tempur Pedic includes in their products. We'll also get into what you can do if you have any questions or concerns. Tempur Pedic is pretty new to the mattress scene compared to a lot of the other companies in the game. The formula that they use in their memory foam mattresses was only developed by NASA about through the eighties, so it wasn't until a bit after that when they got into making mattresses with that viscoelastic foam. All Tempur Pedic mattresses are produced in one of two plants, one in Albuquerque, New Mexico and another in Duffield, Virginia. All of their foam is manufactured here in the States as well. A lot of manufacturers buy packs from overseas. All the Tempur stuff is made right here in the States, assembled here as well. Tempur Pedic tends to manufacture mattresses that sit in about the better and best range. They start a little over sixteen hundred for their more basic adapt series mattresses and can go up into the about four thousand five hundred range with some of the pro adapt and the lux breeze series of mattresses. Tempur Pedic currently manufactures two of the three main mattress types and we've made a couple of videos that discuss the differences between those types. They specialize in hybrid and full memory foam mattresses. Tempur Pedic is the first name people think of a lot of the time when they think memory foam mattress. But Tempur Pedic doesn't even want you to call what they make their mattresses with memory foam. They call it Tempur Material. It's a viscoelastic foam and it's the same stuff NASA was putting in space shuttles years ago. They're the only people who use it. It's their own proprietary material and it gives some of the best pressure relief you'll see in what really is a foam mattress. The elastic foam that Tempur Pedic uses in their mattresses is excellent at relieving pressure and that's because it distributes a person's weight really efficiently, especially people who have joint issues or issues with nerves being pinched, things like sciatica or back sleepers in general especially where you need that weight distributed really efficiently, they tend to benefit most from a Tempur Pedic mattress not just because it's made with foam but because it's made with a particularly good foam. A lot of people come in and have the idea that memory foam is hot, that it returns to shape really slowly and Tempur Pedic has been the driving force behind changing a lot of that stuff. They were the first company out there to develop a carbon fiber impregnated memory foam that can be more porous while also still giving you the pressure relief you need and that means air can move through the mattress, keeps it nice and cool. Another thing that isn't commonly seen in other memory foam mattress brands is their use of phase change materials. They use them both in their covers as well as the top layers beneath their cooling foam. What a phase change material does is changes density depending on the temperature of the mattress. That's actually where their name comes from, Tempur Pedic. Changes depending on the temperature. Tempur Pedic support systems do vary a bit between mattresses. They don't just change the density of foam up near the top of the mattress. They change the structure of the mattress to actually change the type of support a person gets between one mattress to the next. If you want to try out a Tempur Pedic mattress, see if it's right for you, the best thing to do is always going to be to come into one of our locations and try one out. A lot of people do end up purchasing a mattress online and that can sometimes end a disaster if you don't get the right sort of support for you even if the mattress is of good quality. A tool we have at all eleven of our locations is the BedMatch system. It's a way to find the sort of support you need and all of the Tempur Pedic mattresses have been sent and tested and put in the BedMatch system so that we can determine which is right for you should one be. If there's one word that I could use to describe Tempur Pedic, it would be responsive. They've put more into making a mattress respond to you, fit you, conform to your body shape, support your body weight, and even change depending on your body temperature than most other manufacturers out there.
