Operation Backpack Is Back for 2026
June 02, 2026 4 min read
Hello, everyone. Craig Daniels from the Furniture Fair Marketing Department, and we have a special visit here today at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati, here to drop off some school supplies from our Operation Backpack initiative. This is the final drop off for us. We've been to Indianapolis, Louisville, and Dayton, and finally get to go here to Cincinnati to give some kids some much needed backpack and school supplies. I wanna give a special thank you to our community. Without you guys, this would have not been possible. And a special thanks to the businesses in our community. One thing we were very surprised about this year was the sheer amount of local businesses that dropped off boxes upon boxes of school supplies to help the kids in our communities, and just know that these school supplies are going to each of our respective communities. For instance, in Cincinnati, we're dropping off here today at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati in Dayton. We're also dropping off to the Boys and Girls Club of Dayton. In Indianapolis, we'll be dropping off to the Indianapolis Public Schools. And in Louisville, we'll be dropping off to some of VOA's local programs like Unity House. So we are partnering for our fourth year with Furniture Fair and Volunteers of America. We just received an extremely generous donation of school supplies and materials, for our two thousand four hundred club members that we serve each year. These supplies will go to making sure that they start off the twenty four, twenty five school year, with a big smile and a big bang. Every year, it's so exciting, you know, seeing how the kids react when they get these these supplies and starting off the year for them on such a high note is just such a wonderful way to enter the school year. So I was just extremely excited, to see those supplies roll up in that big truck. There's so many ways to engage with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati. You can volunteer. You can donate. You can attend one of our many events. We have our benefit bash coming up. It's a concert with Tori Kelly on October second. But reach out. Go to our website, b g c g c dot org. And you can sign up to be, again, a volunteer, a donor. You can come to our clubs. You can request a tour. You can donate school supplies. We couldn't do this alone. And it's the fortune and generosity of great community partners, the neighborhoods that we serve, and and the residents there, and and, you know, great groups like Furniture Fair and Volunteers in America that that make this possible for us to serve our club members. We have a lot of work ahead to do, but starting off the year with with such a big bang and and something so generous and caring, really puts us on the right foot. So, on behalf of the organization, our club members, our staff, thank you to the communities that donate, that engage, that volunteer, that support. We couldn't do it without you all. It's donations like these, no matter how small, that have truly made a difference to help those around us. On behalf of the entire furniture fair team, I wanna say thank you to the community and helping us support Operation Backpack so that we can give the kids in our area the confidence they need from day one.
