Lebanon, OH – On Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, the prestigious Shaker Run Golf Club in Lebanon, OH, set the scene for a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and compassion. Furniture Fair’s 16th Annual Golf Outing, benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), united local businesses, news channels, restaurants, and furniture industry members for a cause close to many hearts.
Since its inception, the Furniture Fair Golf Outing has become a cornerstone event in the community, showcasing Furniture Fair's unwavering commitment to philanthropy and local engagement. This year's outing continued this proud tradition, drawing participants eager to contribute to the fight against blood cancer.
The day began with a lively check-in at 9:00 AM, as golfers prepared for the Scramble Shotgun start at 10:30 AM. The beautiful weather set the perfect stage for a day on the greens, filled with friendly competition and heartfelt moments. Participants enjoyed a delicious lunch on the course, keeping energy levels high for the day’s activities.

The event was graced by the presence of Bill Daniels, President of Furniture Fair, who shared inspiring words about the importance of the cause. "The Furniture Fair Golf Outing is more than just a sporting event; it's an opportunity for our community to come together in support of a cause that is near and dear to our hearts," said Daniels.
We were also honored to welcome Allison Rogers, a WLWT (Channel 5) meteorologist, as our special guest speaker. Allison shared a deeply personal and inspirational story about her family's battle with leukemia, reminding everyone why their support for LLS is so crucial.
Adding a touch of fun and heartwarming interaction to the event, Furniture Fair’s beloved mascot, the Share Bear, made a special appearance. The Share Bear engaged with participants, posed for photos, and helped spread cheer throughout the day. The mascot’s presence underscored the community spirit of the outing, making the event even more memorable for attendees of all ages.
Participants expressed their enthusiasm and support for the cause. One attendee noted, "It's incredible to see so many people come together to support LLS. The atmosphere is fantastic, and knowing we're making a difference makes it even better."
This year’s outing was particularly significant as it marked a heartfelt milestone. Inspired by the personal experience of a former spokesperson whose granddaughter battled Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, the event holds special meaning for the Furniture Fair family. Over the past sixteen years, the outing has raised over $1.6 million for LLS. This year, we set a new record by raising $120,000, pushing us closer to our goal of surpassing the $2 million mark. Thanks to the generosity of participants, sponsors, and volunteers, the event made substantial progress toward this ambitious target.
The 16th Annual Furniture Fair Golf Outing was a resounding success, demonstrating the power of community and the impact of collective efforts. Bill Daniels summed it up best, "We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to the success of this event, and we invite our community to join us once again as we work towards a world without blood cancer."
