What Is The Protection Plan From Furniture Fair?

Buying new furniture is already a significant investment. Being forced to replace that furniture in less than five years is an even more substantial financial strain than is necessary. The protection plan from Furniture Fair can help eliminate that financial worry.

Furniture Fair's protection plan is the perfect plan to meet your needs, covering fabric upholstery, leather and vinyl, wood, case goods, and other hard-surface furniture. Most manufacturers' warranties only offer limited coverage for up to a year, whereas Furniture Fair's protection plan provides peace of mind coverage for five years. A summary of the features of the plan is listed below.

What Is Covered By Furniture Fair’s Protection Plan?

Furniture Fair's standard protection plan is good five years from delivery. This plan DOES NOT COVER outdoor furniture, adjustable bases, or clearance merchandise. Furniture Fair has additional protection plans tailored for the specific needs of outdoor furniture, adjustable bed bases, and clearance.

The protection plan covers mechanical and structural breakdowns as a result of:

  • Breakage of framed, panels or springs
  • Breakage of sleeper, recliner, lifting, heating, and/or vibrating mechanisms
  • Failure of integral electrical components
  • Lifting or incident-specific chipping of veneers or laminates exposing the substrate
  • Warping
  • Loss of silvering on mirrors

The plan also covers accidental damage which occurs during regular residential use, including:

  • All stain types, including dye bleed and dye transfer onto or into upholstery fabric, leather, or vinyl
  • Punctures, rips, or burns
  • Liquid marks or rings
  • Household heat marks
  • Gouges, dents, scratches, or chips that penetrate the finish exposing the substrate
  • Damage caused by nail polish remover
  • Checking, cracking, bubbling, or peeling of finish caused by a specific incident.
  • Glass or mirror chipping, breakage, or scratched
  • Pet damage- single incident only

Most claims filed through the protection plan that fall under our covered categories are accepted, with many claims resolved in a few weeks. A potential reasons your claim may not be accepted are failure to report the accident within 30 days of the incident or your noticing.

Another reason a claim may not be accepted is for accumulated damage that is clearly beyond a single incident, such as damage accumulated throughout the life of the furniture. Make sure you report damage or product failure incidents as soon as possible.

Is Furniture Fair’s Protection Plan Right For Me?

If you are looking to invest in your furniture and plan to have it in good condition for at least the next five years, Furniture Fair’s protection plan is perfect for your needs. However, there are a few circumstances where this plan may not suit you.

If you plan to replace your furniture within five years, this plan may not be for you. Perhaps you like staying current with the interior design trends, or you are just buying temporary furniture since you might often move with your job. No matter the reason, if you don’t plan on getting five years of use out of it, you won’t maximize your protection plans use.

If you know that the furniture you are purchasing will be subject to heavy use, such as high traffic areas, homes with lots of rambunctious kids, or other places that receive daily use, this plan may not be for you.

In addition, if you are planning on moving out of the lower 48 states in the USA, this plan’s coverage does not extend that far, as Furniture Fair cannot yet reliably service your furniture in that area.

Also, if you plan on reselling the furniture you are purchasing, investing in protection may not be the best thing to do as the protection plan cannot be transferred to another owner. Only the person who bought the furniture can make a claim using the protection plan.
