Outdoor furniture is a great, easy way to upgrade any outdoor space. Whether you have a small balcony outside your apartment or a large patio leading to a luscious backyard, the right furniture can take it to the next level. Who doesn’t love to sit outside and enjoy a nice, warm day? From dining sets to patio umbrellas, find outdoor furniture for sale at Furniture Fair that is both beautiful and able to withstand the unpredictable Ohio and Kentucky weather.

Outdoor Furniture Types

Patio Chairs and Tables

Linger outside longer with outdoor sofas, chairs, and coffee and end tables. Maximize your comfiness with rocking chairs or swivels.

Fire Pit Tables

These tables feature an open flame fed by a concealed propane tank. Around the fire is a large rum perfect to set drinks or to put your feet up.

Dining Tables and Chairs

Dine alfresco whenever the mood strikes! Patio dining sets feature round, square, or rectangle tables. You can also choose from standard height or counter height options.

What to Consider When Buying Outdoor Furniture

How much space do you have?

Small spaces may only have room for a single chair and a side table. With larger spaces, you obviously have more room, but you still need to know what pieces will fill the area best. A single small chair would look even smaller if it’s the only thing on your large patio. No matter what space you’re working with, make sure to get the dimensions before you buy.

How many people do you need to accommodate?

If you have a large family, you want to make sure you choose outdoor furniture that gives everyone plenty of seating options. Even if you live on your own, you may still want to purchase some extra seating in order to accommodate family and friends.

What style do you prefer?

Once you have the logistics down, it’s time to choose the outdoor furniture that fits in with your personal style. From classic wicker designs to modern and farmhouse styles, extend your living space decor to your patio or deck with ease.

How to Protect Your Outdoor Furniture

Outdoor furniture should stand up to everything nature can throw at it. Whatever you choose should be made to last against rain, snow, freezing temperatures, and hot days. At Furniture Fair, all of our outdoor furniture is designed to stay out—even in harsh weather.

Here are five tips to follow to keep your furniture in tip-top shape for many seasons to come:

  1. Limit contact with the sun and the rain if possible.
  2. Keep it clean.
  3. Use material-safe cleaning products.
  4. Store cushions when not in use.
  5. Store away or use protective covers during the off-season.

Protection Advice by Material Type

We use materials like aluminum, wrought iron, teak, and resin to ensure each piece will last for years. All non-weather-resistant materials are sealed to be water-resistant—not waterproof. For complete protection from the elements, be sure to invest in some patio furniture covers or store them in a garage or shed when not in use.

Wood: Even treated wood furniture is susceptible to moisture damage if left in frigid, icy temperatures that can peel away protective coatings leaving the bare wood exposed. Your furniture lifespan will drastically shorten if you do not take steps to keep wood free of moisture.

Teak:Teak wood contains more natural oils than other woods and is more susceptible to mold and mildew.

Wicker: Wicker furniture comes in two materials, natural rattan, and synthetic rattan. Natural rattan is wood-based, while synthetic rattan looks like natural rattan. Moisture can cause wood rot, and mold can build up in the small spaces between the woven rattan patterns.

PVC Composite: PVC isn't susceptible to rot like wooden furniture. However, harsh weather can make plastic composites brittle, faded and extremely easy to break.

Aluminum: Aluminum is almost entirely rustproof, but still susceptible to the elements. Rapid expansion and contraction from wetness can weaken your aluminum furniture’s frame integrity.

Wrought Iron: Most iron outdoor patio furniture will have protective coatings to help keep rust at bay, but even the best layers can be compromised if left without proper protection.
